My Bourbaki Panorama
2016
«My Bourbaki Panorama» is a local tablet app for conveying history in the museum and combines knowledge with entertainment. Visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the 19th century while viewing the panorama with the help of the tablets. The app has been honoured with various awards.
«My Bourbaki Panorama» is a pioneering project for history education. The app was developed jointly by the Institute for History Education and Memory Cultures at the University of Teacher Education Lucerne, Docmine and the Bourbaki Museum. It is designed to get young people interested in history and motivate them to engage with humanity, tolerance and human rights. The tablets for using the app are provided by the Bourbaki Panorama.
The educational app «My Bourbaki Panorama» brings historical events directly into the virtual age and onto tablets. «My Bourbaki Panorama» combines knowledge with entertainment. On the tour, visitors engage with the people on the circular painting, immerse themselves interactively in the history of the 19th century, take photos and answer quiz questions. From this, they compile their own individual "Bourbaki Story", an illustrated document that can be sent to them by e-mail. In this way, history becomes sustainable and tangible.
